Our New Addition!!!

We are excited to announce our exciting news!
(no... we are not having a baby, even though it feels like we have a newborn)

We would like you to meet ...

Thurman

Thurman is a Vizsla who was born on September, 30 2012.
We love him so much already!

Thurman loves to:

PLAY
with his toys or anything he can get his paws on when we are not looking

RUN
We can't wait until he has all his shots so we can take him to the dog park and beach to run free.
Right now we run around the apartment or around the block.  He gets tired pretty quickly because he is just a little one, but soon enough we will be training for marathons!

CUDDLE
I have never seen a dog that loves to cuddle so much! Vizsla's have been giving the nickname
"velcro" dog because they need to be attached to their people all at all times.  Thurman has lived up to this name!

We can't wait to have LOTS of adventures with our new little guy!

Thanksgiving Success!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It was a beautiful day here in Charleston for Thanksgivng

This is how our first Thanksgiving went in Charleston:

I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for the first time ... EVER!! Ek!

The smoke alarm only went off once and I only called my mom about 10 times. SUCCESS!

Let's start from the beginning.

I did a lot of prep work on Wednesday.  Had to cut up the potatoes and brussels sprouts.  Make the stuffing and the cheesecake.

Thursday morning, Trevor cleaned out the turkey for me then we stuffed it and put him in the oven around 11am  After a few hours I made the brussels sprout casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy and rolls.  It all turned out GREAT!!

Trevor ate two HUGE plates of food and that made me so happy.  I really enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving dinner and can't wait to do it again next year.

How was your Thanksgiving?

What was on your menu?

Thanksgiving Eve

Hello Y'all!!
Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

I am so excited about our first Thanksgiving in Charleston and also my first time cooking Thanksgiving dinner.  Friends of ours (Scott and Sarah) invited us to celebrate Thanksgiving with them, but with my crazy work schedule we decided it would be easier to just stay home.  Now that we are getting into it, I don't know if easier is the word ... Who knew so much went in to cooking Thanksgiving Dinner?

Many stores and many days of shopping for ingredients and supplies(I needed several new kitchen gadgets for this!), a lot of prep work to be done on Thanksgiving Eve, and a whole day of cooking and EATING.  Then when you think it is all done, you have to make Shepard's Pie with the leftovers and the dreaded cleaning up.  I can't wait to share how it comes out with you all!

Our Thanksgiving Menu:

TURKEY

MASHED POTATOES & GRAVY

STUFFING
(pic)

BRUSSELS SPROUT CASSEROLE

ROLLS
(pic)

CHEESECAKE

(everything will be homemade with the exception of the the rolls because I can't resist having Pillsbury Crescent Rolls on Thanksgiving)

Today I am thankful for my Mom!! Being 26 and never having to cook Thanksgiving dinner is pretty great, thanks for all the amazing Thanksgiving meals you made our family!!  You made it look so easy :)  Also, Thank You for helping me plan my first Thanksgiving Dinner and giving all your recipes, tips & tricks to me.  I would be so lost without you! I love you!

C'mon Man!!!!

C'MON MAN is my favorite thing about Mondays!!

We just saw this on ESPN ... Trevor said this is me every Monday night:

He makes fun of my "work station" set up all the time.  A few months ago I woke up this:

(we had a battle going for a few days ...  Adult version of Elf on the Shelf maybe?)

That video seriously cracks me up!  My "work station" may look like that and I probably do scream a little like that Piggy every time it comes on, but who doesn't love some C'MON MAN?!?

When Life Gets Crazy!!

All I have to say is ....HOW IS IT THAT ...
1. It's November
2. Next week is Thanksgiving
3. We haven't blogged since October 8th

To be honest I don't even really remember what has gone on in the past month.  I was away in Georgia  for two and a half weeks training then working like crazy here in Charleston.  Trevor has been just as busy with work.  I am really hoping things take a big turn for us in the next couple of weeks.  We need our lives back!!  We miss having dinner together and miss exploring our beautiful city.

Our place is starting to come together.  We actually unpack our first week here, but still haven't had the time to make some final finishing touches.  Here are some pictures of our new place so far:

We hope we have lots of visitors soon :)

Can't wait to share how our first Thanksgiving dinner alone goes (meaning my first time cooking thanksgiving dinner) and also some exciting news that we can officially share next week! YAH!

p.s. Look for some updates on our blog soon!
