Mondays

Mondays aren't so bad when you are a BILLS fan!!! WooHoo!!!

Unless you are living under an NFL ROCK you know that the Buffalo Bills:
         1. BEAT the New England Patriots on Sunday!!
         2. They are 3-0!!
         3. #1 in the AFC East!!
         4. Have the best fans!!

Something that we love to monitor during the game is the placement of Coach Chan Gailey's glasses.  You can always tell his mood by where his glasses are (at least that is what we "Billieve").

Check out these glasses:

The Bills must be kicking some ass here! Glasses
are all the way up!

Disappointment ... Fumble?

Beginning to inch their way down more.  Sack for Fitzpatrick?

Fitz may have thrown an interception! Pissed off!

Times are tough.  Down 21-0

you Chan Gailey!! Thanks for giving our boys some confidence!!

Go Bills!!

Wine Country

After a romantic engagement evening, we did the Spirits, Wine and Beer tour.

1. Finger Lakes Distillery where we tasted four different spirits did shots.  I can't remember the last time I took shots, ekk!! It was a chilly day out, so at least it helped us warm up.  We were able to get a quick tour of the processes ...

kinda gross looking

Next we were off to some Wineries! Yah!!

2. Damiani Wine Cellars.  We tried a bunch of different wines, all paired with speciality chocolate from Hedonist Chocolates in Rochester, NY.  The chocolate was made to go with the wines.  We purchased a bottle of the Merlot (that we drank last night, it reminded us of the chocolate we had with it).

glasses

While we were waiting for the rest of our tour group, Trevor and I decided to jump a wall and try some fresh grapes (with permission of our tour guide of course)!!

Good thing Trevor warned me to
spit out the seed and the skin, they were
surprisingly good.

Another awesome thing at this winery was the art show taking place.  They were featuring work from photographer, George Cannon.  Check out his site, there are some awesome shots.

3. Bloomer Creek Vineyard.  The owner was laid back and knew his stuff (please view their page, he is the man on the tracker).  We tried all different types of wine paired with cheese and crackers.   Purchased 3 bottles of white.

tasty

gorgeous view

4. Red Newt Cellars was our last Winery, it was very busy.  We only got to try 2 different wines.  We purchased a bottle Merlot.  And saw this "interesting" limo:

pick up truck limo??

4.  We ended the tour at Rooster Fish Brewery.  My memory starts to get a little blurry here, but I think we tasted four different kinds of beer.  Our favorite was Aspen Wit (of course) and we purchased a growler of it for later as soon as we got back to the hotel.

Overall we loved the tour, but it would have been much better if we did it with all people we knew.  Possibly a Merkl Family Outing??

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

WE'RE ENGAGED!!

Sorry for being M.I.A for a week, but there is a very good reason!! We got engaged on Friday, September 16th!!

The most beautiful ring!!

It was such a romantic weekend ...

We went to wine country for the weekend and stayed at the Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen, NY.  The hotel was absolutely beautiful and our room was AWESOME!

Rose petals on the bed

Champagne

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

The weekend was perfect!  I am so lucky to have Trevor in my life, he is my best friend and my one true love.  We are so blessed to have each other and can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together.

First picture of us as an "engaged couple"

Couldn't be happier!! We have lots to share from our Spirits, Wine and Beer Tour!! Stay tuned ...

WE LOVE GORGEOUS DAYS!

Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day.  Once Trevor got home from work we went for a walk around Saratoga.  We stopped at The Wine Bar for a nice relaxing glass of wine.  It was so nice to be out and enjoy the last few days of beautiful weather we have left.

We went to Circus Cafe for dinner.

Trevor had the Yankee Pot Roast and I had the
Italian Chicken Pasta.  Both were delish (not that I tried
the pot roast, but I trust Trevor's word on it)!!

We walked to the wine store, grab a bottle of Pinot Grigio then came home to enjoy the rest of the night.  I wish it was nice weather all year round in Saratoga, I would stay here forever.

This weekend we are turning off our phones and heading up to the Finger Lakes for a wine tour on Saturday afternoon.  Trevor won't tell me where exactly we are going/staying so I don't have too much information.  Can't wait for another fun weekend getaway!!

Enjoy your weekend with the ones you love!!

FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL!!!

We were ALL about football this weekend!!  I worked all weekend and Trevor worked Saturday morning, but we didn't let that get in the way of some serious football watching.  It was great to hang out, order wings and watch some pig skin :)

Since we fell in love with Charleston, SC. last weekend we decided to adopt the South Carolina Gamecocks as a fav! Although, we are still not sure how we feel about saying "Let's Go Cocks!!" we are sticking with it.

First game of the weekend was the Gamecocks!!  They beat the Georgia Bulldogs 45-42, making them 2-0 for the season so far!!

Trevor has always been a HUGE Michigan Wolverines fan, so I of course have become a fan too.  This is my first year getting into college football and so far it's LOVE!!  Michigan beat Norte Dame 35-31, it was a close game up to the last seconds!! We were very excited to be home on a Saturday night rockin' our Michigan gear!

this picture is just awkward, but you get the point

Sunday was FINALLY here, it is by far our favorite day of the week during FOOTBALL season.  1pm Buffalo Bills game was on T.V. (thank you Giants and Jets for having later games this week)!!! We got our new Bills gear on and snuggled up on the couch only to watch the Bills destroy the Kansas City Chiefs 41-7!!!

We look like 12 year olds!!! haha love it!

3 out of 3 games are wins?! We'll take it!! FOOTBALL season is wonderful!!

Charleston Wrap Up!!

I know, I know  ... I lied. Yesterday got away from me!!

Before I get into the rest of our Charleston adventures I need to wish my amazing parents Happy Anniversary!! They are two of the most important people in my life and have definitely taught me what true love is.  Their anniversary was yesterday, lots of love their way!! Love you Mom and Dad!!

Where did we leave off?? Saturday nap? Yes.

After we woke up from our nap and took fresh showers we were back out on the town.  First stop was Red's at Shem Creek for a drink.

Us hanging out on the dock.

It was the perfect time of day

with a great view.

Didn't get any pictures, but we saw dolphins!! AWESOME!!

We headed out to Poe's Tavern on Sullivan's Island for dinner.  Food was very good, service was a bit slower than we are use to, but I enjoyed that.  No food/check being rushed on you.  I love being able to enjoy the time with the people I am with.

We ended the night with a moonlit walk on the beach.  It was gorgeous.  Trevor and I both saw the same shooting star there, making it the perfect moment to decide how much in love we were with each other and Charleston.

Sunday

We headed out to the famous Cooper River Bridge (Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge) and took a stroll through the visitors center and picked up LOTS of brochures/booklets/charleston info.

Can't wait to take some
night time shots of the bridge.

Next up was Isle of Palms for some beach time, the tide was high, beach was busy and it rained, but WE still loved every second of it!!

After the beach it was back to Sarah and Scotts for a delish home cooked dinner paired with some tasty beer and porch time.   Dessert was yummy yummy cupcakes from Cupcake. Perfect way to wrap up a perfect weekend!!

Thank you Sarah and Scott for a great time!!

Theme song of the weekend:

Which version do you like better??

Have a great weekend!!!

More Charleston Love

As promised, more from our visit to Charleston ...

Saturday

After waking up early and having some coffee, Scott cooked us all up some yummy omelets!!

We were off to downtown, but first did a quick driving tour of Daniel Island.  The houses were BIG & Beautiful and reminded me of an even fancier desperate housewives neighborhood (I see why Sarah says they should make "The Real Housewives of Daniel Island").  Seriously, people drive golf carts around and moms run with strollers!!

Downtown Adventures:

We parked in a parking garage for FREE!!  We covered A LOT like 5 miles of downtown.  First we hit up the farmers market, which was packed with people and tons of stands.

Fresh Fruit

... AND ...

Fresh Donuts

We could have went for a refreshing piece of fruit, but we could not pass up the smell of those fresh donuts!

These donuts were unlike any donuts
we ever had!!!
HOLY melt in your mouth AMAZINGNESS!!

Next, we did some shopping on Kings St. and I insisted on stopping in Urban Outfitters.  It was all I dreamed of and I bought a scarf because I could't leave without something!

We hit up Rainbow Row:

I fell in love

with all the colors.

A little paint job on one of the houses.

Then we walked through Waterfront Park and Battery Park.  I can see Trevor and I walking/running/biking around both on a daily basis.

Took a little rest here.

After our rest, we were back to walking.  We walked through beautiful neighborhoods.  The houses were all so different and had so much character.  Check out some of the character:

This adorable little guy

Loved these!

Hard to tell, but these trees are so cool.
The feel like plastic.

Last stop in downtown was the Historic Charleston City Market.  We took a quick walk through, Trev and I bought a Rainbow Row ornament :)

We were all exhausted and famished!! Must stop on the way home was Chic-fil-a, it was delicious

Back to Sarah and Scott's for a NAP!  Speaking of nap, I am exhausted so that's all the weekend recapping I have in me for today.

Coming up tomorrow ... the rest of Saturday and Sunday Funday!

and the verdict is ....

CHARLESTON =

Not only was Charleston AMAZING, so were our friends/tour guides Sarah and Scott!!  Thank you so much for an amazing time, it couldn't have been more perfect!!  We truly appreciate all the time you put into planning things out and of course for your wonderful hospitality.

We covered A LOT of ground over the weekend, so to keep you all y'all interested I am going to break it up over the next few days.

Friday

Our flight didn't leave from Albany Airport until noon, so we had some time to have breakfast and of course get to the airport an hour and a half early because I am paranoid!! Since this airport is extremely small, we killed some time by trying to guess what all the animals were in my bag of animal crackers(not as easy as you think)!! We are losers, I know.

Flights went extremely well, one quick plane switch in Baltimore to a jammed packed flight(guess that's what we get for flying Labor Day Weekend), but the flight attendant loosened us all up with this announcement ...   "We are a full flight today, every seat will be taken so make a new friend or a lovvvveeee connection!!!!"

Sarah kindly picked us up at the airport and after going back to her house, meeting up with Scott and changing we headed out for the night.

First stop was Westbrook Brewery, where we started off with the White Thai(my favorite and the only name I remember of all the beer we tasted) then took a tour!! It was huge!  My brother would have loved it.

Next we were off to downtown!!!

Dinner at Amen Street was delicious.

Then it was Market Pavilion Hotel Pavilion Bar for drinks.  Here are a few pictures of us on the roof top:

Sarah and Scott

Trevor and I

Then it was back to Sarah and Scott's place to rest up for Saturday!!  First night in Charleston was a definite success!!! Stay tuned for more of our adventure!!
